Color Veneer Sampler Offcuts
This rainbow of different colors and shapes of veneer can be used for making jewelry, toe stops, ornaments and marquetry projects.
What you get:
- A carton of assorted-sized pieces of random colored dye-infused maple veneer
- Each piece is an offcut of our 1/16" thick maple
- The box contains approximately 13 lbs. of veneer pieces
Trim pieces with a heavy matt knife
We recommend using a Thin Air Press vacuum bag to laminate your creative projects with this pack of veneer pieces.
With Titebond III and your imagination, glue up your designs as flat shapes, or bend them over a mold inside the TAP bag.
As with the other larger sheets of veneer, keep them away from any heat sources to prevent warping and cracking.
Q: Can I make my own wood by soaking it in dye?
A: You will only get a surface coloring this way. Our sheets have been infused using pressure, so the color gets deeper into the veneer.
Q: Can I paint my design over the color?
A: Yes, it is not as waxy as some hand-stains are, so it takes acrylic and spray paints just fine.
Q: What types of glue work with this color veneer?
A: Same glue you would use for your other woodworking projects, PVA glues such as Titebond III, epoxy.
Q: Are the dyes used to create this veneer food safe?
A: The manufacturers who supply us with this veneer confirm that the dyes used are non-toxic but they are not guaranteed to be food-safe. This veneer is sold for recreational parts, such as skateboards.
